So 34 year old Lee Chapman escapes from
Hollesley Bay Colony Prison, commits 6 burglaries and gets 2 more years at
Ipswich Crown Court. Not so unusual perhaps? But the reason given in his
mitigation is that there was far too much sex, drugs and use of mobiles in this
chilled out prison! So unsettled was Lee at the sight of 3 unofficial female
visitors outside his cell, he just shinned down a drainpipe before waiting for
a bus to escape back into East Anglian normality.
Our staff have visited this prison many
times without noticing any unusual conduct, apart from the time when the staff
kindly looked after two canines waiting at the gate for the return of their
legal master.
