Solicitor’s Mortgage Fraud

A former criminal defence solicitor has been jailed for 2 years for playing a part in a £1.3 million mortgage fraud in east London. 35-year-old Elena Quinlivan planned to build a rented property empire, using forged identity documents, bank statements and payslips. She obtained mortgages on 6 properties and rented them out for the profit. Quinlivan was sentenced to repay £108,405 within 12 months and 2 years imprisonment at Southwark Crown Court. Falsified Rape Records

An officer on the Metropolitan Police Ryan Coleman-Farrow has admitted not investigating complaints properly and faking records. He owned up to 13 counts of misconduct at Southwark Crown Court. He failed to get witness statements and falsified statements that the Crown Prosecution Service had advised dropping charges.

Celebrity Blackmail?

Two brothers and a teenage girl have been charged with conspiracy to blackmail regarding naked images of a high profile celebrity found on a stolen laptop. The trio (consisting of Lee Fevrier, his brother Vernon and the 17-year-old girl who cannot be named for legal reasons) allegedly demanded £4,000 from a woman connected with the celebrity. They have not been charged with theft of the laptop. They will reappear in Southwark Crown Court in October for a Plea and Case Management Hearing.
