Winston Fernandez, a 69-year-old retired accountant, was beaten to death in his home by a Russian prostitute. After claiming it was self defence, Natalia Woolley was acquitted of murder but convicted of manslaughter at Guildford Crown Court. V Fest Death

10 men (aged 23 – 35) were arrested on suspicion of murder of a V Festival reveller at an after party. The unnamed victim was apparently part of a group of 50, who stayed at a house before and after attending the music festival. The victim was found in the garden of the house and had suffered head injuries. The police were contacted in the early hours of the Sunday morning after the festival and sealed off the area.
