Homicide and Russian Prostitute

Winston Fernandez, a 69-year-old retired accountant, was beaten to death in his home by a Russian prostitute. After claiming it was self defence, Natalia Woolley was acquitted of murder but convicted of manslaughter at Guildford Crown Court. She claimed he forced her to do sex acts on him so she beat him to death in his £1 million home, where his body was found a month later. HSandCo have vast experience in defending on homicide cases. ‘Sick’ Facebook Remarks about Cop Killer

A 22-year-old man made a facebook page naming the murder suspect Dale Cregan a ‘hero’. He posted such things as “so a pair of coppers got killed – who gives a f***?” Hundreds of facebook users commented on his page, showing their disgust. He is now being questioned by the police on suspicion of making malicious communications on the internet. HS&Co have a good history of dealing with such cases. In Your Defence.

Takeaway Ends in Death

A man was killed at a Chicken Express takeaway in Blackpool after a row over cheesy chips. Ricky Guest-Binns, a Chef at the Chicken Express, was trying to usher out a drunken customer who was complaining the cheese was not melted properly before he was punched by the customer. Mr Guest-Binns fell backwards and there were no signs of life when paramedics arrived. Tests gave the cause of death as a haemorrhage caused by a blow to the head. Allan Glenny admitted having drunk "quite a lot of lager" and spirits and having taken cocaine. He pleaded guilty and was sentenced to three years and four months for manslaughter and two months for a separate assault which happened shortly after the initial attack inside the takeaway. The case was at Preston Crown Court, where we have had serious cases. HS&Co are experts at defending murder and manslaughter cases. In Your Defence.

Pathologist Parts from Body

HS&Co often have to instruct our experts. On homicide cases, we have to utilise the services of pathologists. It is against this background that we learn that a well known pathologist, Freddy Patel has now been struck off the medical register. We have not used his services but the police have, including the post-mortem examination of the G20 riots newspaper seller Ian Tomlinson. Mr Patel’s fundamental claim that Mr Tomlinson had died of a heart attack was contradicted by a string of experts who said he died of internal bleeding. HS&Co have vast experience in murder, attempted murder and manslaughter cases throughout England. In Your Defence.

Historic Evidence Doctored

English Jesuit Priest Edmund Campion was hanged, drawn and quartered because Queen Elizabeth I’s Government changed a key document used in the prosecution. The government  were so determined they added his name to a list of hundreds of English émigré priests accused of conspiring to overthrow the English Monarch.Priest Edmund Campion was tied to a wicker hurdle that was dragged along the roads through London to the place of execution. He and two others were then hanged and cut from the gallows. Our Head of Criminal Law, Andrew Parker, has acted in many murder cases but never with the prospect of the client being killed by the state. In Your Defence.

Cold Case DNA

PC Keith Blakelock was a police officer who was murdered during the Broadwater Farm riots in Tottenham 27 years ago. DNA evidence might now find out who the killer was after using modern scientific techniques. Scotland Yard analysed PC Blakelock’s flame-retardant overalls and more than a dozen murder weapons as part of an ongoing cold case review of the crime. Scotland Yard are apparently just weeks away from bringing charges against a man who was under 18 at the time of the murder. HS&Co have experience in representing suspects on historic or cold cases. We often utilise our own forensic experts in the preparation of cases. In Your Defence.

Tattoo Killer

Kieran Stapleton, a 21 year old man, shot a stranger randomly on a Salford street and then went to get a tear drop tattoo. The victim was a student from India, he was shot dead by ‘Psycho Stapleton,’ who walked away laughing. Anuj Bidve was shot when he had left his hotel to go to the shopping centre for the Boxing Day sales when he was shot by Stapleton. A few days later the killer went to a tattoo parlour to get the ‘murderer mark’ tattooed on his face. Stapleton told the jury that he had pleaded guilty to manslaughter just three weeks ago although he still wouldn’t admit to murdering a student from India. Our Head of Criminal Law, Andrew Parker, has represented on over thirty cases where Murder is in the allegations. Throughout Wales & England. In Your Defence.

'Innocent But In Prison.'

A justice campaigner has warned that there are dozens of innocent people behind bars for crimes they did not commit. Innocence Network UK was investigating 100 potentially unfair convictions, says Dr Michael Naughton, who is a member of this group. He spoke out after Sam Hallam was freed after spending 7 years in prison for the murder of trainee chef Essayas Kassahun in London. Dr Naughton told BBC Radio 4 that the Criminal Cases Review Commission refused to look into some genuine cases when some other "factually guilty" people get off on technicalities. HS&Co are often asked to review potential miscarriages of justice. However, we would only do so on a private fee basis. Ideally, we would prefer to act for suspects from the very beginning of cases to be most effective. We have an exemplary record of achievement at the investigation stage, often getting cases dropped or avoiding a court case.
