Youths have been committing household
burglaries for initiation into gangs. Gangs in London have also increasingly turned
to crimes such as burglary to obtain more cash. The Met Police are worried that
there will be a rise in burglaries around the London area. Scotland Yard have
said around 25% of all violent burglaries in London are now committed by gangs.
